Fan Prover does not close within 60 seconds after call for heat.

What this means – Upon a call for heat, the prover is not closing within 60 seconds.

Possible Solutions

If the venter is running:

-Verify the prover is connected to P1 & P2.

-If a gauge port is present, verify there is a cap on it.

-Connect magnehelic to gauge port and check draft on fan prover. If necessary, adjust draft accordingly to close prover.

-Using a multi-meter, check for continuity across the two wire connections on the prover switch.

-On SideShot Series, verify High Limit is not tripped. Reset or replace if necessary.

-Verify Btu/h input does not exceed venter limit, vent length does not exceed maximum allowable distance, no elbows within 3 vent pipe diameters of venter outlet, and prover sensing tube is not plugged/kinked.

-If all of the above check out, replace the Fan Prover Switch.

If the venter is not running:

-Verify call for heat is present.

-Check for 115v on MTR & N. If power is present, replace venter motor. If power is not present, cycle power on UC1 and recheck. If there is still no power, replace the UC1 Circuit Board (P/N 950-8804).
